EDMA Welcomes PerkinElmer as a New Member

EDMA, the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association, is pleased to welcome PerkinElmer amongst its corporate affiliates, bringing the Association's overall membership to 39 major companies and 23 national associations.

PerkinElmer <http://www.perkinelmer.com/>  develops research and diagnostic instrumentation technologies, as well as clinical resources and support services, aimed to fight illness proactively, provide medical insight more accurately, and develop therapies more quickly. Headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, USA, the company is a provider of scientific instruments, consumables and services to the pharmaceutical, biomedical, environmental testing and general industrial markets.

PerkinElmer is the world's leading supplier of newborn screening systems and methods for maternal and fetal health monitoring during pregnancy. The company has also pioneered the development of molecular cytogenetic products that offer huge potential in pre- and postnatal diagnosis.

It is estimated that the use of PerkinElmer newborn screening tests currently saves 38 babies across the world each day.
