ARKRAY Joins EDMA Corporate Membership
The European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association, EDMA welcomes ARKRAY as new corporate affiliate, bringing the Association’s overall membership up to 31 major IVD companies and 21 National Associations. According to its Mission, ARKRAY aims to contribute to the health and well-being of people all over the world through the advancement of science and the discovery of new technologies.
From the last 35 years, ARKRAY has focused on the manufacturing of diabetes testing and urinalysis that supports both medical professionals and patients alike, offering laboratory, point of care and self testing solutions. ARKRAY is the self-monitoring blood glucose (SMBG) leader in Japan, where it has the global headquarters.
Exporting to more than 80 countries, ARKRAY is also active in emerging technology research, including genome research that focuses on genetic testing.
EDMA joins ARKRAY’s corporate philosophy in stating that “awareness of our imperfections gives us the courage to undertake change”. From this perspective, EDMA looks forward to cooperating with its new Member to meet the challenge of providing new value in the fields of In Vitro Diagnostics and Health Care.
Background:
EDMA, the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association represents National Associations and major companies engaged in the research, development, manufacture or distribution of In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) medical devices in Europe. Through its affiliated National Associations, EDMA represents in total more than 500 companies (or over 700 legal entities) across Europe. The mission of EDMA is to raise awareness of the importance, usefulness and added-value that diagnostic information can provide to healthcare. For this purpose, EDMA cooperates with European institutions, patients groups, trade associations, health professionals and academia to support an appropriate regulatory system, to work towards a realistic economic environment for healthcare in Europe and to be an effective voice in globalisation.
