EDMA Discussion Forum on EU Funding & Financing
How to Take Advantage of EU Funding Opportunities?
On 26 June, the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association (EDMA) organised the 2nd EDMA Discussion Forum on EU Funding and Financing in Brussels, in order to provide insight into the various funding opportunities offered by the European Union.
The Discussion Forum gathered a panel of experts including representatives of the European Commission to answer burning questions on all aspects of EU Funding from selecting calls for proposals to writing a successful proposal.
As a best practice example Eva Beloso from the Spanish Medical Technology association, Fenin, showcased the International Innovation Unit of Fenin aimed at assisting its members to prepare and submit proposals and quality projects to the FP7.
This Discussion Forum is part of the service EDMA provides to its membership to facilitate them in identifying the best funding opportunities. In addition to the Forum EDMA members also benefit from the EU Funding information service on the EDMA website which provides clarity within the myriad of programmes available, and advice on where to find further assistance.
Background:
EDMA, the European Diagnostic Manufacturers Association represents National Associations and major companies engaged in the research, development, manufacture or distribution of In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) medical devices in Europe. Through its affiliated National Associations, EDMA represents in total more than 500 companies (or over 700 legal entities) across Europe. The mission of EDMA is to raise awareness of the importance, usefulness and added-value that diagnostic information can provide to healthcare. For this purpose, EDMA cooperates with European institutions, patients groups, trade associations, health professionals and academia to support an appropriate regulatory system, to work towards a realistic economic environment for healthcare in Europe and to be an effective voice in globalisation.
